As a public school teacher myself, it would be a dereliction of duty if I were to pretend everything were perfect, and not strive to improve my teaching.
Even though I said Alberta had the best public school system, I know, as do all teachers, that there needs to be improvement.
If there are issues with curriculum, lets deal with it.
If there are accountability issues, we can deal with those too
If students feel their education is not relevant enough to the real world, we can work on that.
But if we use public money to put kids into private schools, we don't address any problems and money just becomes scarcer than it already is.
