On Jan 7, 2009, Nine Inch Nails "leaked" over 400GB of raw HD recordings from a few shows on their Lights In The Sky tour. A number of fans including some pro and semi-pro video and audio producers got together in a not-for-profit project called "This One's On Us".

On Christmas they released the results of the project: a multi-cam and fully audio-synched recreation of the Lights in the Sky Tour. They're released it as a free download in just about any format you could hope for (DVD, iPod, PS3, AppleTV, 1080p MKV, etc.) You can sign up for a physical copy of the BD or DVD with artwork and booklet.
At first I was pretty skeptical and expected another crappy bootleg. I downloaded the 1080p MKV version and I'm completely blown away. The production quality is incredible, the audio is excellent, it's really quite astonishing that a group of fans put this together for free.
There's already a spin off project to do something similar for the final NIN show at the Wiltern in LA.
I highly recommend checking this out if you're a NIN fan. I'd like to hear about other similar projects; I'm sure this type of thing has been done before.
