So let me get this straight Dis, you think the US government wouldn't be passed; and by that I mean in a vocal official statement way, if a private citizen of say....and arab nation called for the death of Bush? Oh that's a private citizen with a voice and a following by the way. Not just some street flag burner.
Well at least your government agrees with me and distanced themselves from the "inappropriate" statements.
Thanks for you patriotic land of the free home of the brave "in this country we have free speech" gag-fest though.

Again, WTF are you talking about?
Yeah, it's fine that they distanced themselves....but you mentioned that they had to choose between that and offending 'the church'.....there is no dilema there and that's what I was pointing out. They should have either ignored the idiot or done what they did. They had no responsibility to account for Robertson's words though. None.
I'm pretty sure highly visible private citizens of arab nations make such comments on a daily basis. I'm sure it's broadcast throughout the arab world. I'm also sure we aren't asking the governments of Egypt, Jordan and Oman to account for the statements of non-government officials.
What's the matter with the free speech point? Why does it make you sick? Are you in favor of supressing it or are you just one of those guys who hates anything that is the least bit proud about Americana?
