Funny, I asked this very same question a few months ago, pretty much for the very same reason. Beef Wellington is about as good of a dish as I can think of.
It depends on how "local" you are talking about, but I actually had a really amazing Beef Wellington in Banff, I still think about it form time to time. It was at the St. James Gate Pub, which was fantastic otherwise as well, but this Wellington was really amazing. I was actually thinking about going back to Banff over this Xmas just to eat it again, but unfortunately I never got the chance.
Here's the problem though, it doesnt seem to be on their menu anymore according to their website, which would be a damn shame. If anyone ever happens to be there, please double check for me, it was a damn fine meal.
