I've never owned a Ranger or truck around that size, but all I've heard from Ford Ranger owners is that they're brutal on gas. It could just be coincidence that everyone I've spoken with who owns one said the same. Perhaps your budget would make you say "hey it's not thaaat bad".
I've read online ( i THINK pickuptrucks.com) that the Canyon is suppose to be one of the best trucks on gas. I think Kybosh thats what I read (it was a nice few weeks ago now).
I am a Ford guy so I can't say purchase the GMC
. But I'd certainly look to balance out the gas-milage on the vehicle in comparable with the price of the truck your going to buy. You may actually save money in the long run if you purchase something a little more. I find if people are selling trucks for really cheep, usually means they're hard on gas and they're trying to ditch them.
