I don't think Calgary's a racist city. A little behind the times, but not racist. That would imply some pretty severe racial tension. I grew up in Calgary (as a minority) and met lots of wonderful people of many different backgrounds, had a relatively safe upbringing.

I do think there is a very small amount of highly conservative Albertans who don't like the fact that their world is changing and they like to blame their life problems on immigrants.

Calgary is going to continue to grow and become more multicultural and all the morons who are scared of that pretty much have no say in the matter anyways. Cowboys Nightclub included. They will either have to adapt or they will be out of business as more and more of Calgary's society becomes "non-white", for lack of a better term.
