With Britain gone, there'd be no Western Front, Germany wouldn't need to redirect a large portion of their forces (and an up and coming young general) to N. Africa, at least not for long, and Italy likely would have then finished what they had started there. With Germany being able to direct all their attention at Russia without a second front in the West, the war is as good as over.

Landing troops in South Africa makes no sense. An army nowadays would have next to no chance of pushing overland from there up into Europe across jungle, plains, mountains, and great stretches of desert over hundreds and hundreds of miles, and an army in the 1940s would have absolutely none. What would even be the point?
