For me when I want to discover a band, I always start with their first album and go from there. This way you can hear how the band progresses.
Chevelle only has 5 albums so that's the good news. I would start with their debut album
Point #1 (1999) and then
Wonder What's Next (2002) which was what got them decently famous. After those 2 if you like them, you will LOVE the next 3. Really a killer band.
