BS. Non stop at highway speeds, the Prius gets 45 mpg vs 20 mpg for the M3.

I googled a test top gear did if that is what you are talking about, and that was about the m3 getting slightly better mileage at the same speed as the Prius going its top speed around a track, which is just a goofy comparison that has nothing to do with the real world.

Your point is valid that if you are going to judge cars by their environmental friendliness, it is wrong to just judge them by hybrid/non-hybrid vs judging them by fuel economy.

Where do they get the batteries for the car from?", you got to offer up some proof. I'd venture to guess that a prius using half the gas of a regular sedan for the life of the car is far better for the environment, regardless of the battery.
