All of you guys who say you didn't think "The Dark Knight"...."Avatar"...."Titanic" etc were all that great, you are clearly in the minority, so do you think that makes you special? Do you think that makes you smarter than everyone who thought they were great? Are you trying to show some sort of superior insight inot the movie making world?

That probably sounds pretty sarcastic, but I am somewhat serious. You are of course entitled to your own opinion, as am I. I just don't understand that stance on it.

I don't go to the movies for a life changing experience, I just want to be entertained. the movies are meant to be an escape. They are meant to help you escape from reality for just a couple hours, make you forget about whats going on in your life, get caught up in the story and the characters, and become invested in their outcomes.

I havent seen avatar, but i plan to, and I think I will like it. I thought "The Dark Knight was great" as well I thought Titanic was pretty good. Heck a month or so ago I watched Night at the Museum 2 on a plane, and even though it is ridiculously silly, I admit I was entertained, and the flight went by quite quickly.

Does this mean I'm some sort of sheep, brainwashed by Hollwood to pay money for whatever they churn out however ridiculous it may be?

No, I think it just means I enjoy movies
