The Panthers have sent Mike Knuble and 2.8 million to Toronto for Kirk Maltby and Jaroslav Halak.

The major piece in this trade is Halak. With Toskala being not very good this season, we needed to address this going forward. From what I've seen of Halak, he has the potential to be a starting calibre goaltender (and I think he's better than Price) so it made sense for me to move Knuble for what I hope is a significant piece of the future.
