Default Panthers holding steady

Panthers GM, Matt Duborg brought sweeping changes when he took over the job in the off season. Some trades have been really good, some have been poor. The Panthers are currently out of a playoff spot by a handful of points. Is this a cause for concern for the Panthers GM.

"Of course not. We've had injuries to 4 of our top six players throughout the season thus far and still have two out for the time being. Stuff like that happens, but with Cogliano and Halpern coming back sometime in the next week, we'll see how they respond. I haven't really given a verdict on the players on this team going ahead, but I do know that if things don't turn around between now and the trade deadline, then changes will happen. I feel that it is important for the team to be as competitive as possible during the season and build the team up from there, any way possible."

"One of the ways that I've been trying to build things is through signing free agent prospects. Andrew MacDonald seems to have secured a spot with the Islanders in the NHL while Tomas Kubalik and Casey Cizikas have been doing fairly well in juniors this season. If only three of the entire group of prospects I signed actually make the NHL, I'll consider it a good success. One down two to go."

"Looking ahead, everything really just depends on the on ice results. If my team is not in a playoff spot or close to one by the deadline, I'll be trying to acquire picks/prospects/younger CPHLers. If I am, then I'll stand pat till the end of the season."
