Default Parts of NC and VA are gonna look alot like Calgary this time tomorrow

Just watching the forecast and it says that our area will receive 10-26 cm of snow starting tomorrow afternoon. Not a big deal for those who are used to seeing such events, but in this part of the world it spells disaster as they simply dont have enough equipment to deal with such volumes.

Nevermind the fact that i dont think they even stock winter tires in the tire outlets, the vast majority of people down here have absolutely no clue how to drive in said weather. It goes without saying the roads will be in complete and utter chaos if this happens. Ive been through this only a couple times since leaving Calgary and I remember how much I miss a well equipped city/area than one that isnt. Coupled with the fact that homes here are not built to the same codes as far as insulation and whatnot because of the climate difference and the power almost always goes out in heavy snowfalls, this should be a beauty.

Will head into work for a couple of hours in the AM, head to the supermarket and liquor store around 11 and then batten down the hatches for a few days as wee live on top of a mountain and it is impossible to navigate when that much snow/ice happens.

Cant wait.
