NEVER turn off the old connection until the new connection is on.

Plus you should never host a customer's website on a normal Internet connection... most normal Internet connections don't have an uptime SLA.

I'd always recommend hosting a production website with (at minimum) a 3rd party host with a good track record, or a co-location facility if you need your own servers.
