You sure as hell do NOT have a right to catch that ball. There's a reason that people get ejected for interfering with a ball in play. Once the ball crosses into the seats it's a different story, but when it's still in the field of play you have no right to go after it. Unless it benefits your team of course

On this point, one thing I've never figured out is why a home teams fans seem so willing to get out of the way when their own player fouls one into the first couple of rows. If I'm a hometown fan and a catcher is leaning over the rail to make the catch I'm making damn sure I get a hand on that ball.

I agree that Bartman has been treated unfairly, the degree of scorn thrown at him is unbelievable. Cubs fanatics aren't a stable bunch.
