I just had mine removed a couple months ago.... The reason mine had to go is because it wasnt putting out enough bile. Your supposed to put of between 33-40% , mine was putting out 7% but it kept contracting on itself trying to push more out . It was very painful. Anyway Had the surgery at 8 ish in the morning ( on a friday) , was home by noon. Pain for the first few days. By Wed I was working half days til friday. I was good. Only lingering effect is having to poop often and a lot of diarrhea. Doc said they had pills to fix it but its not to cumbersome yet.
