I used a very different group: Myself (Arcane Warrior - didn't plan this, just kind of happened), Doggy, Wynne and Leliana.

I turned Leliana into an archer for ranged DPS/bard
Wynne is a pure healer
Doggy is a doggy
and myself as the tank

With the arcane warrior and every sustained ability in the game that the 4 characters can get my guy has like 14 buffs and never gets hit. He has less then 200 hps but regens faster / steals life faster then they can hit. (when someone can actually hit him) I have had a bunch of fights where my parrty dies 2 seconds in and I just have to solo everyone, takes a while because all you have is auto attack (doing like 60dmg+5(flamesword buff)+5(cold sword buff) +5 fire dmg enchant +5 fire dmg enchant...every 4-5 seconds.

The dog I use as CC as he has a couple awesome abilities, he can mass stun everyone for a couple seconds and then use overwhelm to auto kill any non oragne - makes quick work of mages.

I keep a couple hundrerd mana pots / health pots on me and it is pretty easy mode.

I am surprised no one else uses the dog, its pretty fun. One crappy part is that you never get loot for it really. (2 peices that are semi irrelevant)
