I'm going to premise by saying I'm an East Coaster, and the most I know of Winnipeg is walking around the Forks, and eating at VJ's drive in, while taking the train out west and back. I'm not familiar with Winnipeg, but have argued since before the MTS Centre was built, it was too small (needs another 3,000-4,000 seats for the NHL).
I'm also going to premise by saying I'd like the Jets back in Winnipeg, I'd love to see more Canadian teams in the NHL.
That said,
If there's a 5 year waiting list for luxury boxes for the Moose, what plans do they have to add them? If there is that long of a wait, it's completely foolish not to expand and build them now. First of all it's more revenue being brought in, and secondly it's an actual demonstration and step toward showing the NHL that Winnipeg is indeed capable of housing an NHL team.
If what you're saying is true, the proof is in the pudding. Otherwise, Halifax just needs a new rink and the Thrashers are going to be on the move!
