Very normal for a FWD car with an open differential and a light front end.

When it's very slippery your open differential will send all the power to one wheel, so yeah, slippery surface, and only one wheel trying to get you going, and this is what you get. I'm sure once you're going you find them fantastic though, and of course the important parts, turning and stopping.
