Was the picture necessary? I'd say yes, you have to let management know what you have to deal with on flights. Be it a large passanger, or an unruley on, what have you. The passanger's face is not in the picture and still gets the scenerio across to the higher ups.

That said, should the picture have been made public, or posted online? Absolutley NOT! It should have been merely internal to help develop a policy regarding obese passangers. No reason what so ever for this being online.
