I'm not pro seal hunt, but I don't think that I have any right to push those values on others; as long as the hunters adhere to basic practices and avoid cruelty, they've got a right to seek a market, and the national department of fisheries have a right to act in the interests of preserving the fish stocks.

But the european anti-seal campaign is just the height of hypocrisy, given the scale of their own fur farms. As far as I'm concerned, the cruelty of raising a wild animal in a small cage for its whole life is more cruel than sealing practices, and the number of animals raised and killed in the european fur farming industry dwarf the Canadian sealing numbers.
