Painful as it may be to admit, the West simply doesn't care very much about Islam.

That's true.

The West does have a bit of an interest in what is underneath all those Islamic people in the Middle East though.

I'm no scholar on the Middle East (neither is Michael Coren), but I don't think any reasonable person can say that "Westerners" (for lack of a better term) have not had a massive effect on what has happened there in the last couple hundred years.

Sort of a strange point about the Nazis:

It was the British who liberated the Arabs from Turkish rule. They did fairly little to help the region afterwards, but for six years of that time they were fighting the Nazis and their friends in, amongst other areas, Egypt, Libya and Iraq.

The implication seems to be that this fight, in Egypt, Libya and Iraq, between two Western powers, was a good thing for the region. Maybe they'd be better off if, you know, they didn't go over there to have a big war?
Well the point went way over your head I see.

There is a conspiracy at work, we are told, the sole purpose of which is to frustrate and weaken the Muslim people.

Dishonesty fuels paranoia. Paranoia fuels hatred. A combination of all of these fuels dependency. A dependency on blaming other people for your own failures. If the economy is weak, it's America. If the army can't fight, it's Israel. If the state is corrupt and inefficient, it's the Christians.

What ever interest the WEST may have there it has nothing to do with them being muslim. A point that most seem to miss

Strange point about the Nazis? What is strange about that? Pick up a history book. Check under WWII. [/b][/quote]
Yeah, it's way over my head alright. I don't have the mental capacity to comprehend a Michael Coren article. Me to dmb.

Just because I don't agree with it doesn't mean I don't get it. That whole Israel vs. Everyone Else has something of a religious odor to it, or did that go over your head? But I'll agree to an extent, it's not entirely about them being muslim. It's about noble pursuits like oil and political power, which is much better.

As for the Nazis, he said the British didn't help much but they did benevolently fight the Nazis, who were trying to take over. While I'm reading a history book about WWII, why don't you pick up an atlas and find Germany on a map. Hint: it's in the WEST.
