The jays are going to suck till at least 2012 if not 2014. They could trade Halladay to any team and it won't make a bit of difference. What matters is getting the right players in order to rebuild the system.

The jays have quite a few pitching prospects (no ace calibre ones though) and a few good young guys in certain other positions (Hill, Lind, Snyder).

However, the Jays have no 3rd base prospects, no SS prospects, no 1st base prospects, no catching prospects, and no outfield prospects. Cooper, Ahrens, Arencibia and basically all the other guys in those positions are going to be no better than stop gap type players if they even make it to the big leagues.

They need to focus on either acquiring those types by trading off the key pieces (Overbay/Halladay/Wells) and through the draft.

The Jays need to win only 50 games this season and get a top 3 pick in order to get a good player hopefully and focus on taking the players with the highest ceilings, not the most MLB ready as they're going to suck for a while so it really doesn't matter.
