I don't really want to argue about semantics here, but other than the word Nut in the product name, there isn't really anything on the package that indicates it has nuts in it. The part where it says hazelnut spread at the bottom certainly hasn't been on the package for 20 years, and I wouldn't expect a 4 y/o to know what a hazelnut looks like. It's possible he didn't even know he had hazelnut allergies at that point in time. Plus, people don't always make the connection a name and what it's made of. If you saw the Amazing Race episode two weeks ago, the guy couldn't figure out that a candelabra is a freakin' candle!

Oh ya. Wouldn't me saying "My friend's cousin once told him" indicate it was something that happened a while ago rather than a recent event?

At the end of the day I think the one thing we can agree on here is it is not a good idea to eat a whole jar of Nutella.
