I use this to monitor my bandwidth usage at the router: http://www.paessler.com/prtg6

I haven't tried using it to monitor individual machines, but I'm sure if you enabled SNMP on the machine, then added a sensor in PRTG you could get the data you were looking for.

It's been a very reliable, stable tool for me, and the freeware version is good for up to 10 sensors (think 10 machines or 10 network interfaces)
