I think people generally don't like cell phone companies because of hidden charges (or maybe just charges that are their own fault but they don't want to admit it) and they generally dislike the company that has burned them the most.
All three companies have some bad reps and some bad contracts. Whatcha going to do really? There are also some very good ones at each company.
People are naturally going to dislike anything they feel forced or tricked into and that happens a lot in the cell industry. Then it just becomes a matter of who did it to them first, or who did it to them worst.

Well said. Every cell phone, TV and internet provider I've had over the years has screwed with me in one way or another. Some are better at it than others. But with these technology services I would consider myself lucky if I could go 3 years without something going wrong. I move frequently and change my services often so stuff will always happen to me.
My longest loyalty has been to Rogers Wireless, nearing 11 years now. And they've just screwed me over by not allowing me to get an iPhone when I haven't asked for a phone in over 3 years. Will I go to Bell and get my iPhone? Maybe. But I'm confident I'll get screwed over there as well
