Its funny I have always viewed people's birthdays as more important, more individual and just for them and then I do give nice gifts. I was raised to view Christmas as a time to help those less fortunate not just greed and 'more, more, more'. Someone said earlier in the thread that they will preach 364 days a year and give good gifts at Christmas (or something along those lines) - well I will do the exact opposite. I think I know which I prefer. My views probably come with my advanced age. Youth, quite often, can be a bit self indulgent. |
That's cute. I also buy gifts for the less-advantaged, but once again, I get them things they would like, not things I would want them to like.
