If your tooth is hurting you now, you'll be very happy to endure an hour of uncomfortableness with the root canal. I've got very sensitive teeth but every time I've had a root canal it's been relatively pain free and I always felt much better after it was over.
As for the wisdom teeth, I put that off for nearly 10 years because I had heard horror stories and had psyched myself out. I didn't even have to take a tylenol afterward.
I think alot with both procedures depends on how good the dentist is too. Of course, if your wisdom teeth are underneath the roots of your molars it's probaly going to suck pretty bad.
