Well it looks like it went off without a riot. I went to check it out and the poor weather certainly detracted from the experience as far as the extreme water sports were concerned. The power went out in half the town and basically shut down a good chunk of the bussinesses that were hoping to cash in on a big day. I think the accommodation concerns weren't too bad as the weather has been really crappy here for like two weeks and has pretty much chased away any tourists that were here. Also the fact that they were only selling Coors Light on site probably kept the anger factor of the crowd down (Thankfully it wasn't the Crown Royal Truama tour!). Still that had to hurt some of the bussinesses on the strip having to shut down when theres like 15000 potential customers walking by every two hours. As a resident I hope that they can bring something like this back again next summer, as anything that attracts people to the town is good. The more people that come to Sylvan Lake, the more potential investors will want to invest in fixing up the properties on the strip, and the better the town will look.
