Another reason why I would be VERY afraid of having someone like Palin in is that in an interview with Barbara Walters, she said that she encourages settlement of the Palestinian lands by Israel.
Does she not understand that we/the US are kind of sort of at war with two Muslim countries and are trying to gain favour there in order to bring stability to the region. Doing that would give a BIG f - you to them and would increase the hatred towards the US.
Also to HOZ, so what if Obama's had a few gaffs, nobody is perfect. I'm sure that the Republicans have never had any screw ups ever. But by in large, the slights towards our allies is not really a huge thing in the scheme of things. It's not nice, and should be worked on for the future, but it is somewhat minor. The area in which Obama has helped, is with those Chavez types. With that speech in Egypt, he helped to change opinions of the United States in a favourable fashion, which if played right, it could go a long way to help to stabilize the region. Thereby allowing the US to pull out of both Iraq and Afghanistan and work together with those nations to maintain lasting peace in the region.
