I amend my prediction to this idea, Jonah with Trinity beside him.

I buy the basics of this theory, but then why did Debra survive? At the very least, why didn't Debra survive a more serious injury? If Trinity goes far enough to get his son to kill to protect his secret, why take any chances? Why not make sure
both Lundy and Debra were dead?
Something doesn't fit and it seems out of context/character for Trinity to get his son to do his bidding... trinity may have a lot of issues and may abuse/control his family, but I think that's a long way from using his son as a hired hand (although I do give the theory merit).
I think Lundy recognized the reporter after she (or her paper) did that piece on him returning to Miami to hunt for Trinity. I think she shot him and wounded Debra in a desperate attempt to further her career. It's not as sexy as Trinity's son, but I think it fits better.
