The major problem I have with the theory that it's Trinity's son (which is further complicated the argument that Trinity trained him) is that Debra survived. And Debra survived a relatively superficial wound. If it was Trinity or Trinity's son trained by Trinity, I would think there would be little left to chance (no survivors).
The reporter, on the other hand, would be an amateur killer and perhaps wanted to keep Debra alive for the interview "hero" piece she's pursuing now?
Both are likely storylines, I just think it's the latter.

Yeah, it wasn't so much that I'm reiterating the Dexter threat to be overly dramatic, it is just that I REALLY like Dexter. There are only about 4 or 5 shows that I think are amazing (Dexter, Sopranos, Rome, Six Feet Under, Mad Men etc) and I would hate to see Dexter turn out to be silly.
I guess the reason I keep repeating that I won't watch ever again is more a testament to the fact that I think it is that unlikely that the reporter will turn out to be the killer (with no motive), than it is me threatening the show. To me the idea is so preposterous that making equally ridiculous claims seems justified because it just isn't going to happen.
Sorry about the confusion.
