That does seem to pose a problem. However, people seem to assume that it must be one of like 3 people.
It is quite likely that Lundy's killer was totally unrelated to the Trinity case. It could be anyone that has it out for Lundy.
I'm not totally familiar with season 1 or 3. Is there anyone from Lundy's past that would want revenge?
I don't think that Trinity's son looks enough like him that Lundy would have recognized him. Also, don't forget that Deb claims that Lundy recognized the shooter. I'm not so sure that is the case, maybe he was just shocked that it was a young kid.
If Lundy did recognize the shooter I would be willing to bet that it was Trinity and that he was there with his son to supervise the shooting. Lundy recognized Trinity, who was standing with his son and the son did the shooting.
It seems weird that the son would go out on such an endeavor alone, especially considering how much of a control freak Trinity is. He would want to be there to make sure it was done right. However, the shooter seemed fairly accurate. How did the son get so proficient at shooting?
