Crap, that sounds like my college years, ha.
You make many good points, the older generation still remembers a lot of the hardships they had to go through, and thus, values the battle necessary to even earn a single dollar. I know several families like this, and many of the heads of household are very down to earth, hard working people.
The younger jewish princesses (in NY, we call them JAPS) who get everything given to them and act like a bunch of spoiled brats on the other hand......it's a real shame they didn't learn any life lessons from their parents.
