I tend to agree. Vigilance never hurts, but the response should be in proportion to the danger lest the message grow tired.

Things like this incident aren't much to get riled up about, mostly because they're simply not suggestive of anything particularly sinister or dangerous. They're just stupid, offensive mischief.

Marches through downtown on the other hand are something more than that, and are good cause for counteraction. Failure to speak up when hateful ideas become the basis for organized action is, to some extent, a means of condoning those actions and the underlying hate. If these prats are getting a foothold in Calgary, best to discredit them as clearly and loudly as possible, as soon as possible.

Good thing free speech works both ways.
