I would go through spokane rather than through Rogers Pass. You have 4 hours of interstate through the 1st mountain range at a lower altitude than the Kokohola. You also avoid rogers pass which I think is the first pass to close due to Avalanche or blizzard conditions.
You also have the option at Cranbrook to to through Crowsnest pass through Fernie or through Radium on highway 93. It is a little longer maybe 1/2 hour but I find that drive a lot nicer.
I would also leave the day or two before the game as you don't want to feel rushed while driving through the mountains. When you are planning your trip plan on going 80 through the mountain passes that way you won't feel like you are getting behind and driving slow.
