I don't believe he blamed or even suggested that Wiley had anything to do with their performance.  I don't think anyone is suggesting he did.
He observed on and commented on his fitness and was subsequently punished for an honest observation.

One observation which was incorrect. It's been documented that Wiley covered more ground than all but 4 of United's players that day.....
