i have complained about ratings before. my position is why have a scale from 0-100 when almost all of the nhl players are rated between 78 and 88? there still is no difference between grinders and superstars. not to mention the potential rating is all fubar. the highest anyone gets is A-; there is no B+ that i have seen; so unless you are the next crosby or ovechkin, your potential is B or lower. once again, it makes it hard to differentiate between good, bad, and average players. while i know i have the ability to look at specific skill ratings, and also potential ratings for the 3 main areas, i should not have to waste 5 hours looking at everyone's player cards and writing down stats to compare some players that i want to draft or trade for.

i haven't been playing online as much this year. and though there are always cheesers, i never got to the point where it made me not want to play or anything like that. i felt for the ps3 eashl community things were decent.

back to ratings... i wish there was more rhyme or reason to players upgrading themselves. there is no explanation of how many points a guy needs to upgrade or how many experience points it cost to upgrade an attribute. and though i haven't gotten far enough in my GM mode to confirm for this year, last year i had a huge problem with all of my non centers dumping an absurd amount of their attribute upgrades into faceoffs. it was just silly. on a similar note, i had dman constantly upgrading their deflections as well. in general the system doesn't seem to work IMO. over the summer i finally started playing dynasty mode in 09; i played every game for both detroit and grand rapids. my leading scorer in grand rapids was warren peters with like 70 points. he was a huge plus player and fought quite a bit for me. yet over the course of the season he went from a 68 to a 69! wow, way to show improvement! i think after i started the next season, he had worked his way all the way up to 70!!! woohoo! i realize that a lot can depend on potential rating and other factors, but point is, the best guy on my ahl team didn't get any better ratings wise. its absurd. yet another thing: last year you could score 2 goals in an ahl game in october and get like 35 experience points for your guy. then that same guy could score 2 goals in game 7 of the stanley cup finals and still just get 35 experience points! what kind of logic is that? i have found there is really no reward in bringing young players up to the nhl because they don't get experience any faster. i just think that whole system needs redone.

anywho, thats all for me for now!
