Masuka (sp) whats with him testing the DNA on the ashes? He knew nothing about the Trinity killings from the past..why would he test them? A certain someone would have tell him to test them no?
And why all of a sudden is Deb allowed to "work" the Trinity case when it was killed by the department and she was told not too a couple of episodes back.

Because she's investigating the most recent bludgeoning and it's connection to those that took place at that location previously. As she said, easing Laguerta into her ideas so as not to look like a lunatic conspiracy nut. It's not officially "The Trinity Investigation" yet.
Masuka determined that the ash was human remain so the next logical step is to try and find out who it is and why it's there.
