Here in the states I think its common thought that the women will get everything in a divorce. The fiances dad is going thru a nasty divorce with his wife her step mom who he put thru college and built a nice house provided everything for this women who is a controlling bitch. They have no kids together and he moved half way across the country and is still paying all her bills+ house payment (3k/mo) all while they are going thru divorce. He is doing this because hes the type of guy that belives the best in people while her lawyer is trying to get the pre-nup thrown out so she can get the house + allomony and everything she can get her hands on. He got over 40k in bonuses from another university that he worked for that he didn't know he got until the letter showed up at his house here and when he checked the joint account that they had she spent it all.

He wants to give her the house and just get his stuff out of it and be done with it while she will probably get everything she wants because she is the women.

there was also a case were a guy and gal got divorced and had two kids and she got everything plus child support and come to find out that he wasn't even the father of the two kids because she was cheating on him and the courts still made him pay for the child support.

Men get the short hand of the stick. I love my fiance to death and hope things would never turn out this way but I am always looking out for ole numbro uno.
