Was he healthy, or did he just think he was healthy? A lot of people (like myself) have not had physical check ups in years. Was he over weight, did he have poor diet or was he a heavy smoker?

I realize you said that he was a relative of a co-worker, so I wouldn't expect you to know all that... just saying.

I wonder what precautions (besides taking a vaccine) are people taking to minimize their risk. Personally, I take a break from the gym during flu season, as well, this year I didn't go to any Halloween parties and I skipped restaurants lately.
