My Dad inherited about 12 hand guns from his brother when he passed away, and a few more rifles/shot guns from the other brother when he passed away.

He has to sell 7 of the 12 hand guns because they are restricted (under 4 inches for the barrell). He never plans to fire them, he stores them legally with the trigger locks in a gun locker. He just likes to bring them out from time to time and remember how much his brother loved the guns and cleaned them daily. It is just a little piece of nostalgia for him that brings a tremendous amount of joy.

But.. he has to sell them, because he isn't allowed to own them since he didn't own them however many years ago.. he can't even get them grand fathered. It really pisses me off because it isn't even about the money, he doesn't want the money for the guns he could care less, he would give them away if he knew someone that would cherish them as much as he did. But that is the problem, no one will. I understand these gun laws are there to protect us, and I am thankful for that aspect. But in situations like these it really sucks.
