I do have a mac, but I doubt the usefulness of the tracking feature. If I pinpoint the tracker to a particular house, do I automatically qualify for a search warrant and able to break into the building to retrieve my stolen goods? What if the tracker pinpoints that my phone is in the Saddledome? Can I strip-search everyone on the premises?
The one account that I read, the guy was extremely lucky. For one, the perpetrator saw the phone owner and started running, obviously making him out to be the theif. But had he just remained calm there was no means for the victim to identify who in the area was the theif.
If I was to get MobileMe it would be to get an account that I *KNOW* will work with push e-mail. I still can't get it to work with Yahoo and I'm pretty sure it can't work with G-mail. But the tracking feature as theft prevention is a waste if you ask me.
