Where do the exceptions end? What about that petite 100 pound year old woman who can only handle a few drinks? Encouraging or even forcing over-consumption of alcohol is not a good idea.

Bartenders can be held personally responsible for patrons they continue to serve while intoxicated. Businesses can lose liquor licenses. Forcing people to drink more at clubs will only lead to problems. I'm sure if you ask any bouncer, he'll tell you that 90% of the fights that happen at bars involve people who are very drunk.

Let people decide for themselves how much they wanna spend. Once they pay their cover, it's up to them.

If you're not making enough money, start offering better drink specials. Last year the back alley had $3 shots before 10 PM, and the club was always packed with people spending their money before 10.

It's too bad the province had to step in and make minimum drink prices, establishments should decide for themselves what their drinks should cost.

When I'm partying in the biggest club in the world with a famous DJ playing in Ibiza, I may be willing to spend $15 on a vodka redbull. But I'm certainly not willing to spend that amount here in Calgary in some lame club. If clubs aren't making enough money off drink sales, it's their fault not mine. You've gotta know your market.
