Wow, a lot there to address.....don't have time for everything as I'm at work, but I'll try.
First off, I think a lot of my dis taste for pre drinking or pre gaming has a lot to do with the fact that I'm not a big drinker myself. I don't see how being drunk enhances any experience in a positive way. I know I'm in a huge minority here, so I'm not gonna argue that point.
Sorry, I'm not trying to come off as a snob, I'm really not. I don't make nearly as much as I would like. I live in a basement suite....enough said.
I don't think people need to spend a TON of money....I never said that, but I do think if you're gonna spend a couple hours in a place of BUSINESS, you should be buying something.
Hockey games.....no, you don't have to buy anything in my mind. You spent the money on a ticket, you get to watch the game. Your call if you want extra stuff. Same with the movie, don't buy anything if you don't want to. If you want to be drunk at a game or a concert or whatever, fine, go ahead, but I just feel getting drunk prior to getting even more drunk doesn't make a lot of sense.
Clubs....Cover doesn't entitle you to just to hang around for a couple hours and not buy anything. If you just want to dance?? Okay, I'll give you that. Some people are like that, but not a lot. Clubbing and drinking go hand in hand don't they??
If you're going to a bar just for one drink, totally cool. But if you spend 3 hours there for a game, I think 20-30 bucks is fair.
