My department was told yesterday that if you have anyone sick in your household to work from home until all symptoms are gone.
I'm salaried, so work from home or sick days off entirely are still paid (mind you, I also end up taking care of issues from home on weekends and evenings, so I still think I'm getting the short end of the stick). As long as my work gets done then there is no problem, but I have seen people let go for too many sick days (really, you should realize that if you are averaging over a sick day a week from the moment you start the job that the employer may have a gripe).
