Disinfecting her cubicle... yeah that may be a little over the top. But the first part of the story isn't really hysteria. Sounds like someone with kids who doesn't have readily available babysitters/in-laws available on short notice.

This is true, when my kid is sick, I wfh, and don't get charged any sick/holiday days.
When I'm sick, I also wfh, but really it is more or less just staying in touch, and not doing a whole ton of work.
