Free plug for Gobs (and I don't even know him!)
I used to have a 97 Jimmy and it was a great truck. Seriously awesome in the winter with the push button 4x4 and the perfect weight distribution of the vehicle (also makes it fun to drive fast). A smaller suv, so it's really easy to park, but it still has lots of space. The back seat has tons of leg room, so your taller passengers don't have their knees up agains the seat. The rear seats fold flat, so you can put a double air mattress back there for camping, plus it's long enough that a 6'2" guy sleeps comfortably. Mine was pretty reliable, especially for the age of the truck and the amount of camping and 4x4ing I did in it. Only repairs I ever had to make were the usual ones like a sensor or the belt or the starter. I did a few more, but nothing in the neighbourhood of a blown tranny or anything.
It's a nice, solid truck. I loved mine. Only reason I sold it was because I needed an open box truck.
Y'all should consider this rig. Great year round, or even for a winter ride.
