First, to put this all on the reserve is a joke IMO.
Who designed this city with the thought that "um yah we will be able negotiate with the band down the road to get land to build a huge un eye-pleasing ringroad along their land". Nibyism resides everywhere in life, the same could be said about the weaselhead option which is perfectly viable IMO. Its not a natural habitat - animals evolve to their environment, they will find some place else to go - get over it you green peace naziis.
Its unfortunate those alderman/mayor/civic employees arent employed now because if they are they should be fired for monumental short sightedness and pure laziness. Yes the band is bending the city over, but who wouldnt given their superior bargaining position.
And now we are stuck with it. I wont be living down there any time soon but I can only imagine how hellish it is.
The Govt makes more off city casinos / dollar spent than any reserve casino. And if the Alberta govt is siding with a social dump like a casino and a handful of residents of Tsu Tina rather than the 1 million strong tax base then the Conservatives should be shown the door with a curbstomp for good measure.
