Default CPHL Power Rankings - Week 3

1. Montreal Canadiens - A complete powerhouse. The most goals scored in the entire league. Ryan Miller is a great fit for the Habs.

2. New York Rangers - A very consistent team surprisingly being lead by Tim Connolly.

3. Minnesota Wild - The Wild's tdop line is clicking and they are getting great goaltending from Biron.

4. Philadelphia Flyers - starting to look like the pre-season contender they were voted. Very inconsistant play from the Flyers but Luongo seems to always bail them out.

5. St. Louis Blues - This team is interesting to watch, they are getting goals from everyone of their lines, good depth puts this team at the #5 spot.

6. LA Kings - The Sedin sisters are leading this team. Chris Mason seems to be a great fit with the Kings going 3-0-1 so far.

7. Columbus Blue Jackets - Slipped a little in the power rankings but overall are doing quite well still. Lombardi is on fire putting up 15 points in 10 games for the jackets.

8. San Jose Sharks - This team is starting to come along Tim Thomas is the workhouse here getting all the Sharks starts so far.

9. Washington Capitals - Brodeur is his usual elite self putting up a 0.931 SV% so far this season.

10. Edmonton Oilers - One of the biggest drops in the power rankings but still manage a top 10 spot. Heatley is showing what he would have looked like in a Oiler uniform.

11. Florida Panthers - This team is getting his offence from their d-men with Polak and Rafalski leading the way. Toskala is getting the job done surprisingly.

12. Dallas Stars - Souray is playing great for the Stars and Legace has not lost in regulation this year. Can Legace continue his pace?

13. Anaheim Ducks - The Ducks are slowly but surely climbing the standings - Briere has been a monster (19 pts in 12 games). Kipper MUST pick up his game in order for the Ducks to be contenders.

14. Ottawa Senators - The Staal Family... err I mean the Senators are playing pretty well. Every line seems to be chipping in on the scoreboard. Fleury needs to step it up but once he does this team is one to watch.

15. Phoenix Coyotes - This is an interesting team, no stars on the team but they seem to get the job done. Roloson has been the MVP of this team so far easily.

16. Tampa Bay Lightning - Another team who has yet to play their backup. Theodore stats arnt great but what counts is the W column.

17. Carolina Hurricanes - We hear a lot of teams top 2 lines not chipping in this season from a lot of GMs. This is not the case in Carolina. Every player on the Canes top 2 lines has chipped in at least 10 points this season. The acquisition of Boyes seems to round out their top 6 quite well.

18. Atlanta Thrashers - The Thrashers top 2 studs (Hossa and Datsyuk) are not disappointing so far. Overall not a bad team but not a good team.

19. Pittsburgh Penguins - Lots of deals in Pittsburgh this season, is Goffie being to inpatient with his players? Is he now allowing his players to gain some chemistry together? So far one of the biggest surprises this season.

20. Vancouver Canucks - 15 games played so far this year this is a tired, injured team. Vokoun looked like a potential Veznia candidate at the begining of the year but is starting to tail off quickly.

21. Buffalo Sabres - This team is not having any issues with scoring, it seems like this team loses games really closely. Watch for this team to make a move to put them over the hump.

22. Detroit Red Wings - So far, this team seems to be having issues scoring, cant blame Turco for this teams losses they are similar to Buffalo, they seem to be losing their games by a close margin. Look for this team to make a move as well this week.

23. Boston Bruins - As GM Fernet announced he was committed to rebuilding his squad this season I am sure most of us are not suprised Boston is 23rd in the power rankings.

24. Colorado Avalanche - Very similar to Boston I am sure most of us are not surprised the Avs are here. This team is not having ANY issue scoring (39 goals for - only 2 teams have more in the entire league) its keeping the puck out of the net. Will Craig Anderson help in that department and allow the Avs to win a few?

25. New York Islanders - Not much improvement this week from the Islanders. Seem to be having a similar issue as the Avs with keeping the puck out of the net. Dipietro is not playing well for the Isles.

26. Calgary Flames - This team is still having issues scoring, Cam Ward can never be blamed for the losses in Calgary. He is by far the MVP of this team - He seems very upset playing for the Flames and requested a trade to the Avs

27. Chicago Blackhawks - Lecavlier is playing like a 4th liner for the hawks this season. 6 points in 11 games is unacceptable for a player like him. Is his supporting cast the issue? maybe watch for this team to make a move this week to address that.

28. Nashville Predators - The rebuilding Preds are not catching a break this season. Mike Smith has been just awful going 1-6-0 with a 4.66 GAA.

29. New Jersey Devils - Another rebuilding team who is getting spectacular play from Steve Mason. 0.916 SV% and 2.51 GAA for a team that has 2 wins is absolutely amazing. If this team picks it up offensively this team will succeed.

30. Toronto Maple Leafs - 10 games played, 12 goals scored all year. Enough said.
